Local contractors in Eastern Province accuse foreign contractors of getting their jobs.

Some local contractors have called on the Immigration Department to ensure that all foreign small scale contractors have valid documentation to work in the country.
The local contractors complained that foreign small scale contractors from neighboring countries have invaded most parts of Eastern Province.
They complained that these contractors are pushing Zambians out of business because they normally charge less compared to what local contractors are charging.
A check by Breeze News has revealed that most people who build houses prefer to engage foreigners because they are cheaper and perform quality works.
And when contacted, Immigration Department Regional Manager, Moses Chimbala says the department will soon move in to check on the situation.
Mr. Chimbala says that any foreign contractor, who will be found to be operating without proper documentation will be arrested and deported.
