Kansebe urges youths to participate in sports

A Parliamentarian in Kasama district has urged youths to take keen interest in various sporting activities in the country.

Lukashya Member of Parliament, Alfridah Kasembe, said this when she officiated at the football tournament organised for youths in her constituency over the long weekend.

 Kansembe observed that a lot of youths in her constituency have dropped out of school which has necessitated her to embark on a programme of forming sports clubs in all the nine wards.

 She appealed to youths to also explore different sporting disciplines and take it as their important career.

 And speaking earlier, John Chanda, thanked the area Member of Parliament for organising a tournament in the area.

 Chanda said the move will help youths to refrain from illicit activities.

At the end of the tournament the MP donated different sporting materials worth K3,000 to the winning teams.
