Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary George Zulu says Government is not happy with the trade imbalance between Zambia and South Africa.

Mr. Zulu has told QFM News that it is for this reason that the Zambian government has engaged the South African government in signing trade agreements to facilitate the importation of goods from Zambia by South Africa.

Mr. Zulu says Zambia has been importing a lot of goods from South Africa while on the other hand South Africa rarely imports goods from Zambia.

He says government wants to see Zambian farmers exporting their farming produce to South Africa including fish.

Mr Zulu states that government is striving to find business for Zambian farmers in South Africa so that they too can have an opportunity to export a variety of goods to that country.
