Chibesakunda appointed Judge President of the COMESA Court

Former Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda has been appointed as Judge President of the COMESA Court.

Zambia Association of the Women Judges has since Congratulated Justice Chibesakunda on her appointment.

Zambia Association of Women Judges President Elizabeth Muyovwe says the association is confident that Justice Chibesakunda will ably represent the Zambian Judiciary and the nation.

This is on account of her immense experience on the bench.

by Judge Muyovwe.

Meanwhile, Zambia is expected to host a high level ministerial United Nations Land Locked Developing Countries meeting in Livingstone.

The meeting which is scheduled for June 2nd to JUNE 4th , will attract 32 countries as well as cooperating partners and officials from the United Nations.

Zambia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Mwaba Kasese-Bota has disclosed that Zambia has also invited countries such as South Africa, India and Brazil among others for the meeting.

Dr Kasese-Bota has told ZNBC’s Mwila Nsofu in New York,
that the meeting is a follow up to the Vienna meeting in 2011, were Head’s of State and government adopted an ambitious ten year action plan for the LLDC’s .

The LLDC’s comprise 16 countries in Africa , 10 in ASIA , four in Europe and two in Latin America.
