THREE PEOPLE YESTERDAY DIED IN TWO SEPARATE ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN KASAMA.

Northern Province Police Commissioner Mukuka Chewe confirmed the sad development to Mano News today saying the first accident where two people died on the spot after being hit by a Suzuki Vittra registration number AHB 1429 which was driven by Kelvin Mulundu 28 of Mulenga Hills occurred near Ludo Lodge around 18:00 hours along Mubanga Chipoya road.

Commissioner Chewe said Mr Mulundu an employee of World Fish centre in Kasama hit a cyclist Wilson Simukazwe 28 of Chisanga Village who died on the spot while his passenger Chris Chisanga 20 of the same village sustained injuries.

The police chief added that the driver lost control and hit a pedestrian Mervis Chileshe 29 of Mulenga hills had a broken neck and died upon arrival at Kasama General Hospital while Angela Mulube 20 of the same area sustained injuries.

And Commissioner Chewe has disclosed that another cyclist of Mpanda village died on the spot after being hit by a Toyota Land Cruiser bearing registration number ALJ 8650 which was driven by Pervious Nkhata 50 of Mukulumpe township.

The police commissioner said the accident happened when Lewis Kalwishi 32 was trying to change lanes along Kasama Mbala road at Musonge village in Kateshi area.
