—-Concerned Mporokoso residents have complained about the non-reduction of fares by transporters following the reduction of fuel pump price by government recently.

Bernard Mulenga, a resident of Mukupa Kaoma, who pays K50 to reach the Mporokoso town, complained that it is not fair to pay the same amount of money when fuel prices have been reduced, saying the benefit of the fuel reduction should be passed on to the travellers.

And John Musonda advised that it would be fair for a journey which costs K100 to cost about K80 and appealed to relevant authorities to intervene.

And Northern Province Transporters and Commuters Association Chairperson, Joseph Kabwe, said plans are underway soon or later to hold a meeting with all stakeholders in order to arrive at an amicable solution to the concerns of the travelling public.
