Girl, five, defiled by mentally unsound man

–Police in Mwansabombwe district in Luapula province have arrested a man of unsound mind for defiling a five-year-old girl.

The man, identified as Cephas Kafiwe, whose age is unknown, of Nakabamba Village, defiled the girl of the same village after he found her bathing in a grass-thatched bathroom.

 

Luapula Province Police Commissioner, Malcolm Mulenga, confirmed the matter to ZANIS in Mwansabombwe.

Mr Mulenga said the matter was reported to Mwansabombwe Police by Monica Muonga, 42, the mother of the girl.

He said the defiler wanted to ease himself in the same bathroom where he met the victim and commanded her to lie down and later defiled her.

Mr Mulenga said the victim reported the matter to her mother as Kafiwe is well-known man in the village.

He said the incident happened on Saturday, January 24, 2015 around 15:00 hours and the man has remained police custody.
