Lungu still leading the presidential elections in 90 constituencies

Patriotic Front (PF) presidential candidate Edgar Lungu is still leading the 2015 presidential elections from the 90 constituencies counted so far.

 

Mr. Lungu polled 590, 252 votes representing 50.75% of the total votes cast.

Second in the race is United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Hakainde Hichilemna who has 524,976, votes representing 45.14% of the total votes.

 

In third place is MMD’s Nevers Mumba who has polled 8,831 votes representing 0.76% while  FDD’s Edith Nawakwi is fourth with 8, 806 votes  representing 0.76%.

 

Tilyenji Kaunda of UNIP is in the fifth position with 5,717 votes representing 0.49%, and Fourth Revolution Party candidate Erick Chanda is sixth with 4,029 votes representing 0.35 %.

 

In seventh position is Elias Chipimo of NAREP who has 3812 votes representing 0.3% while Heritage Party’s Godfrey Miyanda is eighth with 3445 votes representing 0.30%.

 

Daniel Pule of CDP is ninth with 1,962 votes representing 0.17%, FDA’s Ludwig Sondashi is on tenth position with 1,118 votes representing 0.10% and last is Peter Sinkamba of the Green Party with 889 votes representing 0.08 %.

 

The latest results were announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson Irene Mambilima at the Presidential Election Results Center in Lusaka today.
