Earlier when the results from polling stations were tripping in, a concern was raised by one of the election monitors Edward Masiwa that the number of rejected ballot papers as unmarked with an official ECZ stamp was very high in most polling stations.

Mr Masiwa observed that there was negligence among the polling assistants who could not stamp the ballot papers.

He cited Habunkululu 16, and Hamabbobonka  17, and Kasiya polling stations 9 whose ballots have been  rejected respectively due to lack of official markings.

Pemba constituency has 24,856 registered voters.
