Edgar Lungu sprint ahead in Mkushi

———————-Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Edgar Lungu has amassed the highest votes in Mkushi District amongst the eleven candidates that contested the January 20th Presidential by-elections.

Mkushi’s Retaining Officer Kellys Mwebe announced that PF’s Edgar Lungu got 4,153 votes, with his closest rival Hakainde Hichilema of UPND at 2,577.

MMD’s Nevers Mumba got 93 votes with UNIP’s Tiyenji Kaunda getting 53 votes.

Eric Chanda of Fourth Revolution Party got 44, whilst CDP’s Dan Pule got 28 votes.

FDD’s Edith Nawakwi amassed 27 votes, Godfrey Miyanda of Heritage, 25 votes, whilst NAREP’s Elias Chipimo got 21 votes.

Other results announced showed that Green Party’s Peter Sinkamba got 13 votes, with FDA’s Ludwig Sondashi getting 4 votes.

Retaining Officer Mwebe also disclosed that 7,102 voters cast their votes out of an expected 37,192 total number of registered voters in Mkushi District.
