Ballot papers for Zambezi west constituency in Northwestern province were received on time contrary to media reports suggesting that voting materials were not yet in the area.

Zambezi west constituency returning officer for the just ended presidential elections, Kenneth Kandandu has described the reports as untrue and alarming.

Mr. Kandandu wondered why some sections of the media were alarming the nation by spreading unconfirmed reports.

He said the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) helicopter ferried ballot papers to all the 30 polling stations in Zambezi west constituency on time.

He has since appealed to the media to desist from spreading unconfirmed reports because such rumours were capable of alarming the nation.

Meanwhile, the turnout in all the polling stations today was good and voting has since closed in the constituency.
