THE POLICE COMMAND IN NORTHERN PROVINCE SAYS IT WILL LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED IN ENSURING THAT PERPETRATORS OF ELECTORAL VIOLENCE THAT TOOK PLACE IN KASAMA’S MISAMBO AREA YESTERDAY ARE BROUGHT TO BOOK.

Regional Police Commissioner Charity Katanga told Mano News in an interview that her office will work tirelessly to ensure that the culprits behind the incident are arrested regardless of the political status.

Commissioner Katanga has since challenged Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, who is reported to have been at the scene of incidence to clarify the matter.

Meanwhile, Bululu ward councilor Everist Chela has demanded for an apology from the UPND leadership over the beating up of PF members in his area.

Mr Chela, who is also PF Northern Province Secretary, has since described the incident as unacceptable.

And a concerned PF member Kelvin Mutale Sampa has condemned the violence in Kasama’s Misambo area by opposition UPND supporters yesterday.

Mr Sampa, who is in Kasama to beef up PF campaigns charged that the reported violence which is alleged to have happened in full view of Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba makes sad reading.

But when contacted, Kasama Central lawmaker Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba denied being at the scene of the incident and urged complainants to report the matter to police.
