Kafue women call for PF continuation

Kafue, January 12, 2015, ZANIS…………The Kafue District Women Association (DWA) has urged  the community in the area and the country at large to vote for the Patriotic Front (PF)  presidential candidate Edgar Lungu.

The Kafue DWA Secretary Dorcas Mumba said voting for the PF candidate would enable him continue with  the projects left by the late President Michael Sata.

ZANIS reports that Pastor Mumba added that the Women Association in Kafue was happy with the  empowerment programmes in the district which were introduced by the PF government targeting vulnerable women.

Pastor Mumba said the PF government must continue with the women empowerment programmes  which had benefited  the vulnerable people in the local communities.

She cited village banking, tailoring and catering programmes among others as some of the skills that the Kafue women  had benefitted from the women empowerment projects.

Pastor Mumba has since called on the PF Presidential candidate if elected into office  to increase poverty reduction programmes which would help uplift the livelihood of the communities particularly the women and the youth.

Meanwhile,  PF presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has assured Kafue residents that he will continue with the projects left by President Sata if voted into power next week on Tuesday, January 20.

Mr Lungu was speaking at a rally held at Mtendere school grounds in Kafue on friday .

‘I will finish whatever President sata left on the table", Mr Lungu said.

Meanwhile, Mr Lungu appealed to Kafue residents to vote for him in the January 20, 2015 presidential by- elections.
