United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema says he will reduce the cost of fertilizer and mealie-meal in two weeks if elected President in the January 20 polls.

Speaking during a public rally in Shangombo yesterday, Mr. Hichilema said successive governments have neglected the plight of people living in Shangombo district as the district is usually hit by hunger coupled with bad roads and poor infrastructure.

Mr. Hichilema said if elected president this month, his government will take keen interest in uplifting the living standard of Shangombo residents by tarrying the Matebele-Shangombo road, building new schools and providing the locals with cattle loans.

And speaking at the same meeting Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) President Charles Milupi told the gathering that there was need for people of Southern, Western and North-Western Provinces to unite and ensure that Mr. Hichilema emerges winner of the January 20 Presidential polls.

Mr. Milupi said he was confident that the UPND leader will win the January 20 elections as evidenced by the overwhelming support  he is is receiving across the country.
Meanwhile some PF district committee members that included Deputy Political Secretary Pumulo Saboi, District Coordinators Sililo Konga, Connie Mangaga and other party members ditched the ruling party to join the UPND.

The UPND leader was accompanied by Former Sinjembela Members of
Parliament Kelly Walubita and Mubika Mubika among others.
