ZANIS reports from Johannesburg that a check on the printing schedule this afternoon at Ren-Form, the company contracted by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to print the ballot papers revealed that ballot papers for 79 constituencies had been printed.

Speaking when the delegation observing the printing process visited the plant this afternoon, Jean-Pierre Du Sart, Sales Director of Ren-Form, announced that printing is expected to be completed tomorrow.

Du Sart said at the rate work was progressing, all the ballot papers are expected to be ready for dispatch by Tuesday next week.

”By six hours this morning we had done about 74 percent of the printing and we will finish printing by lunch time tomorrow," he said.

A check at Ren-Form found ballot papers for Central, Eastern, Lusaka, Copperbelt and Muchinga provinces being palletised while other ballots were at different stages of stitching, guiloting and packaging.

The ballot papers will be dispatched to the airport starting from next week Wednesday to Friday and airlifted to Lusaka on Saturday, January 11, 2015, nine days before polling day.
