ZNS Commandant challenges Green Eagles

Choma, Dec 31, 2014, ZANIS—Zambia National Service (ZNS) Commandant Nathan Mulenga has commended government for supporting infrastructure development in the defence force.

Lieutenant General  Mulenga has meanwhile challenged Green Eagles Football Club to be inspired by the newly refurbished club house in Choma at a cost of K1, 570,000.00 and aspire to perform better in the 2015 MTN Super League.

The Green Eagles came number 7 in the just ended premier league matches which attracted 16 football teams.

Officially handing over the recreation club, the ZNS Commandant reiterated the passion and commitment of the Service  to make the lives of personnel and members of the local communities residing around comfortable .

In a speech read for him by Brigadier General Abynoty Mulela during the unveiling of the newly constructed recreation club, Lt. Gen. Mulenga said the construction of the club as well as the renovations that had taken place at the officers’ mess at ZNS Choma would also add beauty to the city.

Lt. Gen. Mulenga further explained that the hand-over of the facility also signified government’s commitment to infrastructure development in the Zambia National Service.

The commandant noted that the facility would encourage the Green Eagles Football Club to be self-reliant in terms of resource mobilization by ensuring that they engage in various forms of fund raising ventures to raise money for the running of the club to meet its obligations.

He has since urged club executive members, footballers and would-be patrons to guard the facility jealously and for all to be accountable adding that it had been constructed at a great cost.

Lt. Gen. Mulenga has challenged the Green Eagles to be inspired by the facility and work harder in order to bring  the MTN Super League Trophy to the city of Choma next season.
