Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Yamfwa Mukanga has said government has achieved a lot in road infrastructure development in all parts of the country this year.

Mr. Mukanga said Zambians can attest to this fact and were seeing for themselves the actual development projects all around the country.

He told Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Lusaka today that government has so far worked on the Ndola-Kitwe and Kitwe- Chingola dual carriage ways which he said are almost complete.

He noted that government has achieved almost 85 percent of the Link Zambia 8,000, the pave Zambia 2,000 and the L 400 road construction works.

Mr. Mukanga further pointed out that the troublesome Mongu-Kalabo road was being done.

He said this project has made the people of Western province happy with this development.

Mr. Mukanga stated that government has also dispatched road and construction equipment to all the newly created districts across the country where 200 local contractors are working.

Mr. Mukanga said the developments in the road sector signify what was happening in all other sectors of the economy.

In the communication field, Mr. Mukanga said over 184 towers have been erected in a period of one year.

Mr. Mukanga has since urged the Zambian people to vote for the ruling party on January 20, 2015 because of what it has done in the country.
