UCZ to hold prayers and fasting on January 4th, 2014 ahead of the January 20th, By- elections

Kawambwa, December 31, 2014, ZANIS —–   The United Church of Zambia (UCZ ) has advised its clergy  to involve civic, community and traditional leaders during its  prayer and fasting set for  January 4, 2015 ahead of the January 20th, 2015 Presidential By-elections.

Luapula Province United Church of Zambia Presbytery, Bishop Samuel says his ministers in the province should invite the stakeholders such as traditional leaders during the prayers.

 

 

ZANIS reports  that Mr Mwambazi made the call at the ordination ceremony  of Kawambwa East reverend, Vincent Lungu.

The UCZ in the province will hold prayer and fasting ahead of the 20th January 2015 presidential election hence the reverends of Luapula should ensure they involve councilors, traditional and community leaders in the event.

According to the Presbytery, the prayer and fasting are  an important to the nation adding civic, traditional and community leaders in the province should not be left out so as to enhance peace and unity during next year’s presidential poll.


And speaking later, the ordained reverend Lungu thanked the PF government for a variety of developmental projects it has undertaken in Pambashe constituency.

The colorful ordination reception was also attended by area MP, Ronald Chitotela, District Commissioner, Ivo Mpasa and UCZ Christians of Luapula province.
