Gerry Chanda dismisses PF crumble claims

Chinsali, December 30, 2014, ZANIS…Kanyama Member of Parliament  Gerry Chanda has dismissed media reports attributed to him saying that the Patriotic Front (PF) will crumble without members such as Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba popularly known as GBM.

In an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today, Colonel Chanda said the story carried by a local tabloid suggesting that the PF would crumble if Honourable Mwamba leaves the party are unfounded and should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves.

Colonel Chanda who is also Muchinga province Minister said that he is a serious and strong supporter of the PF who also believes in the leadership of party president Edgar Lungu.

He said that what was reported by the local tabloid that the PF will crumble if GBM leaves the party is a total fabrication.

Colonel Chanda said that he cannot sink so low as to discredit a party he has supported to where it is at the moment.

He has since challenged journalists to be professional in their execution of duties and ensure that they report objectively and the truth.

Colonel Chanda has also challenged GBM to resign from the PF if he thinks that he was a factor in the PF so that he could be met in the battle field in a by-election.

The local tabloid yesterday carried a story attributed to Colonel Chanda suggesting that GBM who has since endorsed Hakainde Hichilema in the January 20, 2015 by- election would make the PF crumble if he leaves the party.
