—————- Chief Katuta of abena Mukulu tribe in Luwingu district in Northern Province has appealed to the Zambia News and Information Services-ZANIS to immediately start conducting mobile announcements around his Chiefdom on the forthcoming Presidential by-election.

Chief Katuta said most of the villagers in his Chiefdom have shifted to their farm areas locally known as mitanda and are not aware about the January 20th Presidential by-elections.

He said that if ZANIS will not be engaged to publicise the election in his Chiefdom, there will be low voter turnout.

And Chief Katuta has endorsed the candidature of PF Presidential candidate Edgar Lungu in the forthcoming Presidential by-election.

He said Katuta is a no go area for other political parties because government has taken development to the area such as early distribution of fertilizer, school and road upgrading which were the major outcry for the community.

Meanwhile, A Food Reserve Agency -FRA shed situated in Chief Katuta’s area has collapsed following heavy rains.

Chief Katuta confirmed the development to ZANIS in Luwingu district over the weekend.

Chief Katuta said the collapse of the shed is due to heavy rains being experienced saying government through FRA removed all the maize before the shed collapsed this week.

He urged the FRA to mobilise and construct a modern maize marketing shed in the Chiefdom.
