————–Some top United Party for National Development UPND at district level in Luwingu  have resigned to join the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

Luwingu District PF Chairperson, Caphas Chofwe disclosed to ZANIS that the former UPND Chairperson and some executive committee members today resigned to join the ruling.

Mr. Chofwe said the former UPND district executive committee members have already been replaced by the group which supported Lubansenshi Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka in 2011 presidential and general elections.

And former UPND Chairperson Shiwaleni Mwape has since endorsed PF presidential candidate Edger Lungu.

And when contacted for a comment, Mr Mwape complained that he was not involved in the initial preparation of the coming of UPND President Hakainde Hichilema to Luwingu adding that he was side-lined by those supporting Mr. Mucheleka.
