Hichilema assures Luwingu Farmers

—————- United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has assured farmers in Luwingu district that if elected Republican President on 20 January, 2015 he will ensure farmers are paid their money on time.

 

Addressing Luwingu residents at the President party on Sunday afternoon, Mr. Hichilema said he was disappointed that farmers in Luwingu district have not been paid by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).

Mr. Hichilema urged the peasant farmers to vote for him in order to bring back sanity in the farming industry.

He said because he was a farmer himself, he knows what it takes and he was more than ready to work with the peasant farmers in rural areas.

Mr. Hichilema said people in remote areas depend on farming activities saying he will ensure that fertilizer is supplied early to the district at lower prices.

He promised the civil servants that he would reverse the retirement age from 65 to 55.

Mr. Hichilema was accompanied by Lubansenshi Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka, Lunte Member of Parliament Felix Mutati, former first lady Maureen Mwanawasa, former Lukanshya Member of Parliament Bernard Mpundu and some MMD defectors.

And Lubansenshi Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka said he was happy that Mr. Hichilema was the first presidential aspirant to visit Luwingu.
