SCOTT instructs Law enforcement agencies to be vigilant

Acting President, GUY SCOTT has instructed Law enforcement agencies to be vigilant with politicians who might engage in corrupt activities ahead of the January 20 Presidential election. Dr SCOTT also advised the Electoral Commission of Zambia to monitor political activities ahead of the Presidential election.Dr SCOTT said this today during the International Anti-Corruption Day in Lusaka commemorated under the Theme ”Break the Corruption Chain”.

 

He further said the Patriotic Front – PF government is on track in the fight against corruption.Dr SCOTT saidwhen PF came into power the late President MICHAEL SATA showed political will to fight corruption by declaring that he was going to govern the country based on Christian values.And speaking at the same function African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption President CONELIUS MWEETWA says transparency and Accountability of government resources is key to the fight against corruption.And Transparency International Zambia President LEE HABASONDA has implored presidential aspiring candidates in the January 20 election to practice politics of integrity based on issues and not to permit any corruption vices as they interact with voters.
