Rains blow off Chitaba school in Kasama

 —–Over 600 pupils at Chitaba Middle Basic School in Chief Shibwalya Kapila in Mporokoso district have been affected after a 1×3 classroom block was blown off following heavy rains.

MMD Lunte Constituency Coordinator, Adorn Shalawambe, disclosed the development to ZANIS in Kasama today, saying heavy rains, coupled with strong winds, blew off the roof last week.

Mr Shalawambe has since appealed to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) and Lunte Member of Parliament, Felix Mutati, to quickly come to the aid of the school so that pupils can resume normal classes.

He said the classroom blocks needed serious attention especially that it is rainy season.

Mr Shalawambe hoped that the problem would be worked on to allow normal classes when schools open next year.
