—-The Patriotic Front (PF) in Kaputa district has launched campaigns for the January 20, presidential elections with Edgar Lungu as its Presidential candidate.
PF Kaputa District Chairperson, Dickson Chomba, said the party in the district has kicked off the campaigns and is fully behind MrLungu as the party’s candidate in the coming by-elections.
Mr Chomba said the campaigns will involve distribution of posters for Mr Lungu, holding of public meetings in all wards and deployment of foot soldiers who will undertake door-to-door campaigns.
He said the party in Kaputa is very confident that Mr Lungu, who is both Defence and Justice Minister, will deliver victory for the ruling party come January 20.
Mr Chomba said this in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Kaputa today.
He has also urged Mr Lungu to include Kaputa among the places to visit during his campaign program so that he talks to the people.
Meanwhile, Mr Chomba has commended the courts for putting records straight by declaring Mr Lungu as the PF president and therefore the sole candidate for the party in the coming elections.
He said people around the country showed that they wanted Mr Lungu to be president by unanimously supporting him during the convention in Kabwe.
He has also applauded St Ignatius Church Priest, Fr Charles Chilinda, for bringing the PF factions together in trying to find a solution for the party.
Mr Chomba said it is only through unity of purpose that the ruling party will emerge victorious in the Presidential elections.
He has further called on all losing presidential aspirants to rally behind Mr Lungu who he said is the people’s choice.
All the way
