——The Lukulu Boarding Secondary School, whose major works were completed a year ago, is expected to open next year.

Lukulu District Commissioner, Precious Muyenga, says the remaining minor works of water and electricity are expected to be completed in two weeks’ time.

Ms Muyenga said a company has been sub-contracted to work on the boreholes as the school currently does not have water.

She said iron filters will be installed in the boreholes as water in the area has high iron content for human consumption.

The DC said this yesterday when Permanent Secretary for Special Duties at Cabinet Office, Bert Mushala, called on her and Mitete District Commissioner.

And Mitete DC, Teddy Chimbinde, said the communication tower has been completed and was just awaiting mobile providers to open up their services in the district.

Mr Chimbinde also said K150,000 has been spent to open up the road leading to the district for easy access of the area.

Meanwhile, Mr Mushala has expressed happiness at the rate at which government projects are being constructed in the two districts.

Mr Mushala encouraged team work as it contributes effectively to projects being completed on time.

He pointed out that there is need to put the infrastructures being completed into good use unlike being idle for a long time.

The PS was in the districts to check on government projects.
