—The founder President of Victory Over Tough Elections-VOTE Zambia, Stembridge Mwangala has called on all registered voters to turn out in large numbers and exercise their democratic right to vote for a leader with good qualities during the January 2015 Presidential By -elections.
Mr. Mwangala said people need to be sensitised to vote wisely for a leader who will be able to move the country forward for the benefit of all Zambians.
And Mr. Mwangala said his organisation which is the first ever mass movement comprising of voters was recently established to provide a platform to all voters country wide to air their views and opinions on the election campaigns, political leadership and developmental issues in a coordinated and effective manner.
He said this in a statement availed to ZANIS in Lusaka today that many politicians have time immemorial neglected the plight of voters once elected.
He added that this was the reason his organisation will voice out concerns of the electorate during and after the elections and engage the leaders on various issues that affect people.
Mr. Mwangala further said Vote Zambia aims at promoting good quality, positive result oriented leadership through background checks and open leadership debates that offers opportunity for electorates to make informed choices before voting.
He added that his organisation will also help reduce electoral violence, hooliganism, vote buying by educating the electorates on the importance of promoting civilisation during the voting process.
Mr. Mwangala observed that there is need for the voters to identify and endorse their own quality leaders with good track records and vote for them in the various political offices during the Presidential ,Parliamentary and Local government elections.
