UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to the PF to allow Acting President Guy Scott guide the country to ensure a smooth transition of government.

Mr. Hichilema says Dr Scott owes his obligation to the Zambian people first and not the PF only, and therefore must not be kept busy with intra-party squabbles of the PF.

Mr Hichilema therefore says it is important that although there are divisions in the PF, the Acting President must also be given time to govern the nation.

And Mr Hichilema has appealed to Dr Scott to ensure that every Presidential candidate and party has access to ZNBC.

Mr. Hichilema says Dr Scott must also ensure that there is no interference in the workings of the ZNBC.

The UPND leader also says Dr Scott has a responsibility to communicate regularly and provide clarity and assurance to the people during the run up to elections in order to ensure peace and unity.

And Mr. Hichilema has thanked Lunte MP and others who have endorsed his candidature for the January 20 election.

Mr. Hichilema says the support given to him is the kind of partnership needed to unite the country and move it forward together.

He says there is need for politics of peace and partnership, and not confusion and conflicts.

He has re-iterated his serious concerns regarding the governance of the country at the moment, which has seen a distracted and divided government resulting in taking away attention from delivering development to the people.
