Simba sports club of Tanzania has paid tribute to the late Zambian President Michael Sata and described him as a leader who revitalised sport in the country.

Simba sports club coach Patrick Phiri said the late Mr. Sata was instrumental in all the successes the country recorded in various sports disciplines and particularly football.

Phiri told ZANIS sports in an interview in Lusaka today that it was through Mr. Sata’s strong political will that Zambia is now more recognized at the international level.

He has since sent a message of condolences to the Sata family and the entire nation on behalf of Simba sports club on the loss of Mr. Sata.

The Zambian born coach, whose one year contract with the Dar-es–Salaam based outfit ends in June next year, is in the country for a one week holiday.
