Members of the National Council which comprises members of the Central Committee, Members of Parliament, Provincial and District officials is currently in Session as provided for underArticle 49. Their job is to consider the list of candidates and make recommendations to the General Conference.
Hon. Inonge Wina who is the Chairperson of the Party informed the Conference that all procedures provided for in the Constitution will be followed.
Delegates are seated in the main arena waiting patiently for this body to finish it’s work.
Acting President, Guy Scott, Sylvia Masebo and some officials have failed to come to the Conference but are in town.
There is tension in Kabwe town as officials check and chase places that reportedly attempting to conducting a parralel process.
A public plea was made to the delegates that in the event that Acting President Scott and PF Chairperson Sylvia Masebo arrived at the venue they should be welcomed and their supporters should not be harrassed.
A local journalist summarised the events well when she was giving a live feed to her station “why is Scott acting like one leading a rebellious group. Failing to come to his own Conference, failing to meet his own people that he leads and camping in town like one locked out out of his own meeting”
