Press Statement – Campaigning in Western Province
Statement 29th November

In the last 24 hours the campaign tour has taken me to Mongu and Limulunga. We have been in the markets meeting people and this morning in Mongu a press conference was held for local media.

I was very grateful for the wonderful reception his Royal Highness accorded to me yesterday.

I also would like to express my gratitude to those honourables who endorsed me this afternoon. Your support means a lot to me and the UPND. Together I know we can work hard for a better Zambia.

Like I have been saying, each region of our beautiful country has its own unique economical potential that needs to be tapped.

Western province is particularly endowed with land, vegetation and climatic conditions very suitable for fishing, rice, cashew nuts, and agriculture.

Animal diseases have continued to affect this region to a point where farmers are not allowed to transport their animals in most cases. This needs to be addressed as a matter of priority.
