NKWIZA FOOTBALL CLUB VS MUFULIRA WANDERERS.

The Football Association of Zambia Disciplinary Committee met ~~today~~ and considered a number of cases from various clubs. One of the cases that ignited a lot of interest from many soccer fans,involved Mufulira Wanderers and Nkwiza Football clubs.

Earlier in the year, a match between the two clubs failed to take place after the referee in charge, called it off on account of insufficient security as required by the regulations.

Following this cancellation of the match, three points were awarded to Wanderers. However,Nkwiza contested the move and appealed to the Disciplinary Committee for a judicial review. When the case came up for hearing a month ago, Nkwiza failed to attend as they had a bereavement. Consequently the Committee adjourned the hearing to today.

However when the case was called this afternoon, the Disciplinary Committee was informed that Nkwiza had withdrawn their protest.

This means that Wanderers’ points in Division One North remain intact at 64 and the legendary cup fighters’ promotion to the MTN-FAZ league, is reaffirmed.
