UNDER-20 boxing coach Wisdom Mudenda is concerned with the stature of his pugilists ahead of the 2014 Africa Union Sports Commission (AUSC) Region Five Games, starting next week in Zimbabwe.
In an interview in Lusaka yesterday, Mudenda said the four boxers – lightweight Nkumbu Silungwe, flyweight Rabson Tembo and bantamweight Timothy Chiyesu and Emmanuel Ngoma, who will be making a debut at the games, lack tactical approach.
Mudenda said the boxers’ physical stature, was also a source of concern.
“The boxers have the endurance but lack tactical approach which is important in boxing. The other source of concern is that the boxers have small bodies, making it difficult to upgrade their weight categories, like in the case of Chiyesu and Ngoma, who are in bantamweight,” Mudenda said.
