Kansanshi mine donates learning materials

—Kansanshi Mining Plc in Solwezi disitrict has donated electronic-learning materials and special desks to government worth K581, 400.00.

 

The donated items, which will be distributed to various government schools in Solwez,i include 63 hand-held computer tablets called Zedupads and 5000 slates called Tutu desks.

 

Kansanshi Mining Public Relations Manager, Godfrey Msiska, made the donation on behalf of the company at the official launch of the National Library Week in Solwezi.

 

Mr Msiska said the donated equipment is a pilot project whose results will inform the company’s decision on the scope and breadth of expanding the technology in Solwezi.

 

And receiving the donation, Education Minister, John Phiri, thanked Kansanshi Mining Plc for its efforts aimed at improving the quality of education in North Western Province and Solwezi in particular.

 

In a speech read for him by North Western Province Permanent Secretary, Amos Malupenga, Dr Phiri urged beneficiaries of the donation to make good use of the equipment.
