Chipolopolo qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations

 

Lusaka, November 20th, ZANIS—The Zambia National Soccer team has successfully qualified to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Equatorial Guinea.

 

 

Zambia wrapped the qualifiers on eleven points after beating Caper Verde one nil in a game played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola yesterday.

 

 

Nkana Red Devils FC playmaker Ronald Kampamba scored the only important goal for Zambia in the 78thminute to send the home fans frenzy at the packed Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

 

 

The Chipolopolo started the game on a high note with Rainford Kalaba making speed moves on the left flank and dominated most of the play for the Chipolopolo.

 

 

Acting President Dr. Guy Scott accompanied by wife Charlotte Scott and Several Cabinet Ministers among them Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili led in cheering the Honour Janza tutored side.

 

Dr. Scott encouraged the boys to die a little for the country and praised the team for qualifying to the Africa cup of nations.

 

 

Zambia finished second in Group F a point behind group leaders Cape Verde who with twelve points booked themselves a place at next year’s Africa cup championship.

 

 

Mozambique finished third with six points and Niger trails the groups on three points and the two teams have been eluded their chance of appearing at the 2015 Africa cup of nations.

 

 

Apart from Zambia and Cape Verde, other African teams that have qualified to the 2015 Africa cup of nation’s tournament are South Africa, Congo, Algeria, Mali, Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Tunisia and Senegal while Equatorial Guinea qualified as hosts.
