Zimbabwean jailed five years over govt. trophy

A Zimbabwean national has been
sentenced by the Livingstone Magistrate Court to 5 years imprisonment
with hard labour on two counts of unlawful possession of government
trophy.


Risen Longwani, 35, was convicted and sentenced to five years in the
first count and 18 months in the second count and the sentences
slapped on Longwani will run concurrently.


He was sentenced alongside other convicts who included John Nkumane, 30
and Casper Mbwayukira 59, who were fined K200 in default of nine months and six months imprisonment with hard labour respectively.


Last week on Thursday, ZAWA carried out a raid around Mandea area
in Kazungula where eight people were arrested for various offenses.
