The  Lukulu district administration says it was hopeful that the Patriotic Front (PF ) leadership will continue with the legacy of the late President Michael Sata of taking development to rural areas.

Lukulu District Commissioner Precious Muyenga has pointed out that it will be good to choose someone who will follow the vision of the late President saying he had taken development to many parts of the country in the three years he had been on power from September 2011 to October 2014.

Speaking to ZANIS in an interview in Lukulu yesterday when she was sending off mourners who had gathered at the cooperative grounds for the national mourning, Ms. Muyenga urged the people in the district to avoid wrangles even after the national mourning.

The DC also has commended government departments, stakeholders and parastatal departments that have worked together with the district administration during the national mourning period and urged them to continue with the good spirit in the future.

Meanwhile, PF District Secretary Alfred Mungana commended the district commissioner for holding the district together during and after the national mourning.

Mr Mungana thanked government through the DC’s  office for making it possible for the residents of Lukulu to follow the state funeral and the burial program through the mourning camp that was set-up five days before the burial of President Sata on November 11.
