Dr Kaseba joins hundreds of mourners


Lusaka, Nov 8, 2014, ZANIS…First Lady Dr Christine Kaseba-Sata has for the third time joined hundreds of mourners who gathered to mourn the late President Michael Sata at the Lusaka Show Grounds.

 

The funeral gathering was characterized by solemn songs from different church denominations.

Others who attended the funeral gathering were Cabinet ministers who included Tourism and Arts Minister Jean Kapata, Chiefs and Traditional Affairs minister Nkandu Luo and Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emmerine Kabanshi.

 

Others were Health deputy minister Chitalu Chilufya, deputy minister in the office of the Vice President Davies Mwango and Sports deputy minister Christopher Mulenga.

Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary Wamunyima Muwana, Lusaka District Commissioner Ashell Kapengele and other senior government officials were also among the mourners.

President Michael Sata,  77, died in a London Hospital on October 28,  2014 and will be buried at the Embassy Park on Tuesday November 11, 2014.

Many Zambians have described the late President Sata as a gallant leader who worked hard to develop Zambia within the three years he had been in power citing massive road infrastructure, construction of schools, health posts and improving the economy of the country among others.
