Acting president mourns Bishop Spaita

–Acting President, Guy Scott, has sent a message of condolences to the Catholic Church on the passing on of Archbishop Emeritus James Spaita of Kasama arch Diocese.

 

This is contained in a letter of condolences issued to the Archbishop of Kasama, Ignitious Chama and made available to ZANIS by Senior Private Secretary to the Acting President, Robert Kamalata.

 

Dr Scott said the late Archbishop was a generous servant of God who was tireless in spearheading God’s work in Northern and Luapula Provinces and the country at large.

 

He said government thoughts and prayers are with the Catholic Church as they mourn the beloved Archbishop and may they find comfort during this period of intense sadness.

 

Archbishop Emeritus James Spaita died at the age of 80, at Kasama General Hospital after an illness. He will be put to rest tomorrow.
