Acting Chieftaines Kaputa of the Tabwa speaking people of Kaputa district has described President Michael Sata as a President who had a heart for traditional leaders.

The Chieftaines said under his leadership, President Sata introduced the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs which was to look at the concerns of traditional leaders.

She added that it was after his ascension to power in 2011 that President Sata increased the subsidies for traditional leaders and retainers.

The Chieftaines said Mr. Sata also had a plan for Chiefdoms countrywide through the construction and upgrading of Chief’s palaces adding that Kaputa

was also in line to benefit from this ambitious programme.

Chieftaines Kaputa said this in an interview with ZANIS in Kaputa today.

She has since prayed for God’s strength and guidance to the first family and Zambia as a whole as they mourn the late President.

She explained President Sata will be greatly missed and remembered in Kaputa especially for his plans to better the standards of living of the people.

The traditional leader said President Sata promised roads, schools and hospitals in the area and had already started delivering some of his promises.

The traditional leader has since urged the next President of Zambia to
continue building on where President Sata left.

She advised that the next President to work with traditional leaders who she said are critical to the development of
the country.

Chieftaines Kaputa further appealed for calm as the country mourns the
