Govt committed to health service delivery

-Lundazi District Commissioner Janet Palukani says the Patriotic Front [PF] government is committed to providing and delivering quality health services to the people of the area .

Ms Palukani said government and its partners will continue constructing new health facilities not only in Lundazi  but  Zambia as a whole in order to reduce distances that patients especially expectant mothers travel to access health services.

ZANIS in Lundazi reports that the DC said this in a speech read on her behalf by District Administration Officer [DAO]  Mukule Banda during the official  opening of Katube Health Post in Kachama Ward , Lumezi Constituency over the weekend.

The Health Post was constructed using Constituency Development Funds [CDF] and is situated   40 kilo meters away from Lundazi boma.

Ms Palukani disclosed that out of the 650 health Posts which government hasdpledged to construct across the country , nine had been earmarked for construction in Lundazi where  Kapongolo, Njoka and Kataba in Lumezi Constituency will get three each.

Meanwhile, Lundazi District Director of Health Dr Allan Chisenga has pledged to provide adequate health equipment, improve staffing, staff accommodation and drug supply not only at Katube health Centre but all health facilities in the district.

And speaking earlier Chairperson for Katube Neighborhood Health Committee  Allams Chima complained about the poor road network connecting Katube health post and disclosed that work that commenced in 2009 was only completed in 2014 at a total cost of K80, 000=00.

Mr Chima however commended the Katube Community for providing 25 percent upfront contributions in terms of unskilled labour, bricks, sand stones among other materials.
