Catholics in Nchelenge mourn President Sata

 

Nchelenge, November 3rd, 2014, ZANIS —-   THE Catholic Church in Nchelenge District in Luapula Province yesterday held a full mass service in honour of the late President Michael Sata.

 


And a  Mbala resident  says the late President Sata will be missed by the entire Mbala community as he had passion to improve the lives of the poor especially the women in the district.

 

 

Saint Paul’s’ Catholic Church Parish Priest Father Mathews Katwai said the late President devoted all his life to honour God, a legacy he said all catholics should embrace.

 


Father Katwai said the departed President Sata lived a life of service and his out pouring desire to uplift the living conditions of the poor was made his daily agenda.

 


ZANIS reports that the clergyman said this during a mass held at District Commissioner (DC) Royd Chakaba’s residence , yesterday.

 

 

He said these endeavors are evident in the manner that the departed President identified himself with the down trodden and the marginalized in society.

 


He observed that said the deceased President did what was humanly possible to better the lives of the Zambian people especially the marginalized groups and the youths.

 


He said now that the author of life has taken him to the yonder realms, the Zambia people should individually audit their lives and emulate the late republican President.

 


Father Katwai prayed for unity, peace and harmony during the mourning period arguing that that would be befitting send off to the departed President, His Excellency Michael Sata.

 


The clergy also prayed for the first family to have strength and comfort in God the creator.

 


He has since urged all Zambians to remain steadfast and keep on praying for first family during this difficult moment of sorrow, disbelief and anguish.

 

 

And a  Mbala resident  says the late President Sata will be missed by the entire Mbala community as he had passion to improve the lives of the poor especially the women in the district.

 

 

Ms. Foster Mwambazi who could not hold her tears said in a walk-in interview with ZANIS today that Mr. Sata’s three years of leadership had  improved the lives of many Zambians.

 

 

Ms. Mwambazi said President Sata had empowered a lot of women with loans and grants in order to improve their lives through entrepreneurship and have benefitted from the farmer input support programme.

 

 

She added that the late President had started fulfilling his campaign promises such as construction of Mbala – Nakonde road to bituminous standard and timely deliverance  inputs.

 

 

Ms. Mwambazi has wished the first family God’s comfort and direction as they mourn the death of the gallant son of Zambia.

 

She prays that God intervenes in choosing another leader who would lead the country with passion like Mr. Sata.
