FAZ reschedules matches in view of the Presidential Mourning

——The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has re-scheduled matches which were supposed to be played this week to Wednesday,  November 12, 2014, following the death of president Micheal Sata.

FAZ spokesperson, Nkweto Tembwe, said this following government’s announcement and declaration of the national mourning period for late President   Sata who was also patron of the Football Association of Zambia.

 

Tembwe advised that the matches, which were supposed to be played either on Wednesday, 29th or Thursday 30thOctober, will now be played on Wednesday 12th November 2014.

 

He further indicated that league matches, which were supposed to be played today Saturday, November 1or Sunday November 2, will be played on Saturday 15th or Sunday November 16th 2014 respectively.

 

Meanwhile, those which were supposed to be played on 8th and 9th November will take place on 22nd and 23rd November 2014 respectively.

 

President Michael Sata died on Tuesday October 28, 2014 in London and will be put to rest on the November 11, 2014 at the Presidential burial site, Embassy Park in Lusaka.
