Kaputa October 31,2014,ZANIS—-The Kaputa Subordinate court has acquitted the five United Party for National Development (UPND) members who were charged with assaulting a Patriotic Front cadre.

ZANIS reports that Mukoyo told Kaputa Magistrate Victor Mukupa that he had decided to discontinue the case.

State prosecutors also said they had no objections against the application by the complainant.

And delivering ruling, Magistrate Mukupa said he had decided to acquit and set free the five UPND cadres.

He said there was sufficient ground for the complainant to withdraw the matter.

The five UPND cadres Chilekwa Mpundu, Mubanga Chipampe , Harold Chansa , Davis Makungu , and Dowson Chansa were jointly charged with assaulting Adam Mukoyo, a PF cadre on April 11, 2014.
