POLICE in Mansa have arrested Chief Chisunka for allegedly causing the death of a pedestrian.
Luapula Province commissioner of police Malcolm Mulenga said Chief Chisunka,  54, whose names are Justine Mwakamwaya, allegedly knocked down a pedestrian around 01:40 hours on Saturday on Mansa-Mwense road near Kaole Guest House.
Mr Mulenga named the deceased as Isaac Musonda, 28, of Shapi village in Chief Chimese’s area.
“The victim was walking along the roadside when the vehicle hit him and due to the impact, he died on the spot,” he said.
Mr Mulenga said the chief was driving a Toyota Prado registration number ASB 47.
He said the chief will appear before the Mansa Resident Magistrate tomorrow.
“The chief has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving,” Mr Mulenga said.
