Chilubi MP distributes 30 wheelchairs to Santa Maria Mission Hospital

Chilubi Member of Parliament Obious Chisala has distributed 30 wheelchairs at Santa Maria first referral Mission Hospital in Chilubi district in Northern Province.

 

During the handover ceremony held at the hospital grounds yesterday, Mr Chisala explained wheechairs were a donation from the Zambia Children International based in Lusaka.

 

Mr Chisala who is also Gender and Child Development Deputy Minister said the donation was aimed at improving health service delivery to the public in the area.

 

Meanwhile, Mr Chisala also urged health workers at the institution not to portray a negative attitude towards patients during their execution of duties.

 

He advised that workers should instead develop a good attitude when treating patients and develop good working relations with everyone at the institution.

Speaking at the same event, Sister-In-Charge Brendah Chembo said the donation had come at a right time when the institution was facing a big challenge with wheelchairs.

 

She assured the donors that the institution will use the donation for its intended purpose and not for anything else.
