Itezhi Tezhi District Commissioner George Sichula who graced the occasion said government stands ready to support fundraising initiatives aimed at making the 50th jubilee successful, colourful and memorable.

“It is not always that government will manage to fund such events in every district because it takes enormous resources. The money raised here tonight will be meant for the 2014 independence Golden Jubilee cerebrations,” Mr Sichula said.

Mr. Sichula asked the fundraising committee to put the money raised to good use and to ensure that next Friday’s jubilee cerebrations were unique with plenty to eat and drink for everyone.
