Two girls from Wycombe High School hosted a special fundraising event at the weekend, which was attended by the Ambassador of Zambia.

Sophie Richards, 15, and Sophie Ashmore, 16, hosted ‘A Taste of Africa’ – a joint fundraiser to raise money for their Outlook Expedition to Zambia next July.

More than 110 people attended the event, which showcased entertainment from Emmanuel the Magnificent, Katy Kartwheel and Africa Junction.

Paul Lumbi, Zambian Ambassador, attended the event with his wife, along with High Wycombe’s Mayor, Councillor Khalil Ahmed and his wife, Zareen.

The event was held at Christ the Servant King church, in Sycamore Road, and the evening raised more than £3,500.
