—-The Minnistry of Education in Muchinga Province has held the first ever Provincial Quiz aimed at helping pupils in examination classes to prepare for the coming exams.
Provincial Education Officer (PEO), Jobbicks Kalumba, said the provincial quiz is being used as a technique for revision in preparation for examinations.
Mr Kalumba said this in a speech read on his behalf by quiz co-ordinator, Rodgers Mtumayo, at Chinsali Girls’ Secondary School hall today.
He said the quiz is also inculcating a sense of assertiveness in the pupils so as not to engage in examination malpractices.
The PEO said the quiz has also provided a forum for interaction and a strategy for opening up pupils especially those that had no chance to visit other places.
Mr Kalumba said the quiz questions have been picked from a wide coverage of the syllabus.
The Provincial Quiz attracted participates from all the seven districts of Muchinga Province including 24 basic schools and 23 secondary schools took part.
