Soccer fans pleased with Zambia U-17 qualification to Niger 2015 finals
Lusaka, September 27, ZANIS— The qualification of the U-17 chipolopolos to next year’s sixteenth edition of the junior African championship has cheered soccer fans in the country.
Zambia Sports Fans Association (ZSFA) Patron Peter Makembo praised the boys for putting up a spirited fight that has earned them a place at the continental championship.
Makembo told ZANIS sports in a telephone interview in Lusaka today that the junior Chipolopolo has done the country proud for beating Uganda both home and away.
He has however thanked government for the continued support not only to football but to all the various sports disciplines in the country.
The Zambia Under Seventeen National soccer team this afternoon qualified to the 2015 Junior Africa cup of nations to be hosted by Niger .
This was after the Junior Chipolopolo beat the Junior Cranes of Uganda by two goals to 1 in the second leg final round match played at Nakivubo Stadium in Kampala this afternoon.
Patson Daka scored all the 2 important goals for Zambia to ensure the team qualifies via a 4-1 goal aggregate score line.
The Chris Kaunda tutored side beat Uganda 2 nil a fortnights ago in Lusaka in the first leg final round game.
